                                                                                              My Painting Style

Since this website is currently  devoted to my early work and history, I thought I might mention some of my artistic heroes. My existing surrealist portfolio, exemplified on this site with the painting known as "Pygmalion", shows the influence, primarily, of Salvador Dali's work from the 1930's and also the Pre-Raphaelites, a group of painters working in England before the end of the 19th century. My portrait work also shows the influence of the 1930's  in both style and content.

My new work, which will be shown on this site soon, is very much influenced by the Spanish, French and Italian painters working in France between 1905 and 1939. The influence of these artists will be seen more strongly in the new work. I would, however, like to stress the point that while I have  my artist influences as all artists have always had, I would hope and believe that you would  see the soon to be forthcoming art, not as a pastiche of what once was, but rather  as an exciting step forward.
